Chippewa Boots Arctic 9" Golden Tan Nubuc Boot Review:
When I received these boots I was really excited to try them out. When I first opened the box and put them on, the first thing that stood out was how unbelievably stiff they were. This is caused from a very thick leather being used in the craftsmanship (which I stress is not a bad thing). I walked around the house for a while in them and they remained very stiff. I wore them on a few whitetail hunts in southwestern Minnesota before I eventually took them out on a mule deer hunt in western South Dakota. They were still rather stiff before we left on the trip. Walking in the up and down terrain of West River SD really broke these boots in good, and they went from the stiffest hunting boots I’ve ever worn, to one of the most comfortable pairs of boots in a matter of a day. The temperatures hung right around the 20 degree mark most of the trip and my feet never had a problem of getting cold, or getting too warm and sweaty.
I have no doubts in the durability of these boots, and I can see them performing year after year for a long time – with proper care. The American made name is hard to find nowadays and we all know that, so that really gives an added bonus along with the hand craftsmanship. If you are looking into buying a new boot, give Chippewa a look – you won’t be disappointed.
