Chippewa Boots Arctic 9" Bay Apache Boot Review:
Upon opening the box, there was a few noticeable things about these boots that immediately stood out. First was the American Flag on the toe - showing they are an American made product. Another standout was the lamb shearling liner, making these boots look to be very warm. Once I picked up the product, it was noticeable that the leather was rather thick, and the boots were very stiff.
Once I put the boots on, my assumption about the stiffness of the boots was correct.
I wore these a few times in the field before taking them on a mule deer hunt in Western South Dakota. The temperatures were moderate at around 20 degrees the entire weekend and my feet had no problems staying warm. They were still a little stiff at first, but once wearing them in that terrain, they broke in after about a day and became very comfortable.
The durability of these boots forces me to believe they would excel in both a hunting environment or a work environment. They are a little more spendy than the average hunting boot, but you truly are paying for the handcrafted quality. If you are willing to pay a little more than a standard hunting boot, I would recommend you take a look at the Chippewa line.
