River's West has gotten a lot of acclaim lately - including a couple of awards from Field and Stream magainze. Their H2P system is excellent and gives great waterproofing, windproofing and is still breathable. The Sawtooth Mountain Parka is a bit longer than the average parka which is nice. Their jacket is extremely light - approximately less than 4 pounds. Most other 4 in 1 type parkas are closer to 7 pounds. This is available in my favorite camo patter: Advantage® MAX-4 HD™. It's a very comfortable to wear and has well placed pockets. The flip side to this being so light and so comfortable is that it isn't a 'system parka' - that is, it is a one-piece jacket with no zip out liner. I prefer to have the option to zip out the liner so that I can use the shell as my rain coat or during mild weather.
River's West has one of the best product catalogs on the market. It is very detailed with high quality, nice sized pictures and some humor mixed throughout. For instance, there is 'centerfold section' which mimics that of another magazine - except this one has a picture and bio of the "Rivers West Mountain Man of the Year" (foretunately fore everyone, he's fully clothed). Keep an eye on River's West and their products.
