Boyt H Series Injection Molded Double Gun Case Review:
My favorite gun case. I tested this case on a recent bear hunting trip to Canada. I brought two guns and both were completely fine after our airline flights.
The injection molded case is sturdy. This case looks and feels solid. Manufacturer tests include driving over this case with a vehicle. It shows in the durability of this case.
I really like the locks. They hook and twist down into place for a solid, secure fit. I added about 8 lbs of misc. items on top of the foam and the locks pulled the case lid very tight and secure.
The memory foam is the best padding you can get. I traced out spots for my two guns and used my electric fish cleaning knife to carve out the holes for the guns. I highly recommend using that to cut the foam -- worked great. Also, to trace your gun, use a piece of chalk. Cut pretty much on the chalk. Do not cut too wide to make sure your guns fit into the foam tightly.
The wheels and handle make travel through airports as easy as possible. I like the wheels as they are inset into the molded plastic. Other gun cases have wheels attached to the outside of the case. This causes a bigger footprint when traveling and packing your case into a vehicle. The handle is sprint loaded to keep it down when not in use -- another good feature.
I pulled my guns out of the case at bear camp and fired them both and they were right on -- no scope movement.
If you are traveling and need a good, safe, secure gun case, the Boyt case is an excellent choice. With this case, you will no worries about the safety of your gun.
